
Solving crimes with the powers of observation could never get so incredible. From executive producer Steve Franks (“Big Daddy”) and co-executive procurers Jack Sakmar and Kerry Lenhart (“Boston Public,” “Ed”) and Mel Damski (“Pickett Fences”) in association with Tagline Pictures’ Kelly Kulchack and Chris Henze and NBC Universal Television Studios comes a series with eccentric but intelligent characters getting pairs up to solve crimes.
From a family of cops, Shawn Spencer (James Roday) grew up learning impressive observation skill from his father, Henry (Corbin Bernsen), who thought him how to see the smallest details from his surroundings as something he might need for a career in the police force. Instead of going the police academy Shawn and his father get into a feud and Shawn ends up working a bunch of odd jobs. While working Shawn calls in tips to the police about cases he comes across but when one of his tips was too close to be true the police arrest him on suspicions that he is an accomplice.
When questioned about his involvement in the case Shawn nervously uses his charm and keen observation skills to convince the police that he is a psychic. Reluctantly they believe him and later hire him to solve cases. Along with his best friend and assistant Burton ‘Gus’ Guster (Dulé Hill), Shawn becomes the detective he was trained to be. Psych, the PI agency begins solving cases for the police force.
