There is a new pilot coming soon on CBS. Legendary producer Jerry Bruckheimer (“National Treasure,” “CSI,” Cold Case,” and “The Amazing Race”) is teaming up with “Sleeper Cell” creators Cyrus Voris and Ethan Reiff to make an adventure drama that will take you trekking around the world searching for treasures.
The writers want a show that is grounded in real politics of today while capturing some reality show drama like “The Amazing Race”. Reiff is known as a history buff and the show is projected to use history as a storyline. Also with Voris and Reiff’s experience with experts in terrorism and Islam gathered while working on “Sleeper Cell” the new show without a title yet will blend in real projects for archaeologists and historians. An ex-Navy SEAL turned archaeologist has reportedly been cast as the lead for the newly commissioned show.
The show will try not to be an “Indiana Jones” show that is made for television; its goal rather is as Reiff puts it to be “more grounded, more contemporary”. There has been no reports yet about when the pilot it due to premier on CBS. Writing and casting are both beginning to unfold. CBS hopes that Bruckheimer continues to be their lucky producer as his line of hit television work has propelled CBS into the coming fall television season.
