
Based on a critically acclaimed novel by Washington Post columnist David Ignatius, the spy thriller Body of Lies is now under pre-production for Warner Bros. Pictures. The movie will be directed by Ridley Scott and the adaptation is written by The Departed’s William Monahan.
For the fifth time Academy Award-winning actor Russell Crowe will team up with Scott, this time alongside three time Oscar nominee Leonardo DiCaprio. In the centre of the plot we find the former journalist Roger Ferris (DiCaprio) whom after having sustained injuries in the Iraq war is hired by the CIA (Crowe) to track down an Al Qaeda leader in the country of Jordan. Shooting locations in Morocco and the States are currently being scouted and production is scheduled to begin in fall 2007.
