Call of Duty 2 is a first-person shooter video game that has made it to the rank of classics. Developed by Infinity Ward it was first released in 2005 and like a good wine or a bad cheese it has aged with dignity to become so much more than a passing sequel.

The game takes place during World War II and in Multiplayer-mode the player is given the choice between American, British, Russian (Allies) or German (Axis) soldiers. Maps vary from Normandy to Russia and there are hundreds of community-created alternatives available. Call of Duty 2 Multiplayer features several different game types: Deatmatch, Team Deatmatch, Search & Destroy and Headquarters.

In-game the first thing you notice about Call of Duty 2 is the cinematic and intense action that strikes you right in the face once you click that “Join server” button. On the PC-version each multiplayer server supports up to 64 players which delivers an enjoyable and challenging experience even for hardcore gamers.

Who would have thought that Baka Pygmy chants mixed with modern music could become worldwide hits. It was back in 1992 that French musicians Michel Sanchez and Eric Mouquet released their first self-titled album Deep Forest that with the single Sweet Lullaby climbed the charts.

If you are a frequent visitor of video-sharing website YouTube you might have stumbled upon the popular “Where the Hell is Matt?” video in which American game developer and Internet celebrity Matt Harding is travelling around the world dancing to the music of “Sweet Lullaby” by Deep Forest. The song was one of the first worldhits produced by the French duo and uses lyrics from a dying Solomon Islands language.

Come September 26, Master Chief (Petty Officer SPARTAN-117) returns in Halo 3 for the Xbox 360. The cliffhanger ending of Halo 2 lives in infamy, but now the resolution to the epic saga is upon us. We will find out what becomes of the Chief, Cortana, the Arbiter, and all life in the known universe. The ark is on Earth, and the final battle is about to begin.

The first Halo was universally critically acclaimed, and it told an elegant and simple, yet captivating story. Halo 2 was an improvement upon its predecessor on many accounts, especially in regard to its multiplayer component, but storywise, it was a mess. Bungie has promised that Halo 3 will avoid the missteps of the second game, and that it will be the ultimate Halo experience: the best from the first two games, and more.

And it sure does look good. Amazing physics, next-gen graphics and promises of a more focused story; more weapons, more vehicles and more of everything. 4 player co-operative play! Even among all the anticipated titles coming out this fall (and there’s a lot of them), Halo 3 stands out. It will be a system seller of unrivalled proportion. And we can’t wait to finish the fight.
